Château Canon, originally Clos St-Martin, is a Bordeaux wine from the Saint-Émilion appellation, ranked among the Premiers grands crus classés B in the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine.

The best vintages of Chateau Canon are: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2000, 1989, 1982, 1959, 1955, 1953, 1950, 1947 and 1945. Chateau Canon is one of the longest lived wines in St. Emilion, so older vintages could be worth looking into.

Producer profile. Château Canon is named after Jacques Kanon who originally purchased the estate in 1790. In 1996 it was purchased by famous fashion brand Chanel. Chanel is also the owner of Margaux Château Rauzan-Ségla that they purchased in 1994.

History. The history of the Canon Castle goes back to 1760 when the lieutenant of frigate and corsair, with the name of the same name, Jacques Kanon, acquired the Domain of Saint Martin. He immediately undertook the construction of an elegant house and developed the monoculture of the vine on all the parcels.
